Kwata Music took the Cameroonian music Industry by storm with their one of a kind cypher “Back Market Cypher” .

The idea was to pull up in an environment (physically or psychologically) and rap about the activities going on there, (but from rather unconventional standpoints) in an attempt to paint some of the realities of our everyday society.

These ideas came into reality when the whole Kwata Pikin Team which is made up of ,Mic Monsta ,Dready Christ ,Torch City Music (Uncle Cales , Waxzey and Edico le Feu)

Boy Karl is the one behind the production of this Cypher while Mbeng Ngassa had the video under control .

In the lines to come, we will review the whole Cypher verse by verse .

DREADY CHRIST :

Dready Christ starts the song with his role as a college drop out who is heading to the market and his verse was murdered like he was the main villain of a horror movie.

Bars on Bars as he gives numerous punches on the beat like “I Had To Drop Out Of School So I Can Teach My Self!” .

This is an indirect irony to how the employment sector in Cameroon is as you get put of school and cant work so you have to learn new skills on your own .

Arguably the best verse of the Cypher that comes early .

WAXZEY (TORCH CITY) :

Waxzey comes in with a more kwata spirit .His role is as a pick pocket in the market scene and his verse and delivery are impressive and relatable as he delivers lines like “Mendem di plant me but they no di harvest”

Absolute class from the Rapper.

UNCLE CALES (TORCH CITY):

Rapper Uncle Cales also gives a more ghetto touch to his verse with him rapping as a call box agent.

He shows how unique his rap style is added to his deep voice giving him that charisma and freight which is scarce to see in rappers .

He shows his lyrical strength with lines like ” these rappers them wack but them want credit, if music be na calling them di borrow credit”

Meaning some rappers aren’t actually called by God to rap and that’s why they have a negative image when it concerns their music .

EDICO (TORCH CITY MUSIC)

Edico takes the role of a cloth seller with him rapping with things that occur in the perspective of the cloth seller .

He delivers his verse in a subtle way with a bit of attitude as he releases lines like ” Time is Money but I don’t sell watch”

Saying that he can’t teach you how to manage your time .

Massive food for thought in his verse

MIC MONSTA :

Lyrical Njorku raps on the perspective of a pastor trying to convert the masses into believers of Jesus Christ and releases arguably one of the hottest verses on the Cypher.

He delivers numerous sick bars and the one which captures the attention of the public is when he says

“Woman nedi born, i get holy ghost fire but first you go send me your nude “

This punchline indirectly shades numerous prophets who indirectly exploit the naivety and desperation of their congregation especially women. This particular type of scenario happens everyday in our society

At the end of the day, all rappers performed wonderfully in the 1st episode of this Cypher and from the look of this episode, we cant wait to see the next episode of this Kwata music project .
