Popular Cameroonian Producer and Songwriter, Mbuarebut IVO better known as I.V.O, has finally revealed why he fell out with Maahlox.

Miss Gina Promotes had an exclusive Interview with IVO, who finally shared his side of the story and revealed what went wrong in his relationship with Maahlox and why he ultimately decided to walk away even after producing 80% of Maahlox’s hit songs like: ”Tuer pour Tuer”, ”Ça Sort Comme Ça Sort” and many others.

The hitmaker also talked about his journey so far as a producer, why he dropped out of school and shed more light on his career as a musician.

Miss Gina Promotes: Can you describe yourself to our readers using 5 words?

Producer IVO: A young Cameroonian music producer

Miss Gina Promotes: What influenced you to start producing music?

Producer IVO: Well I started as a singer so I needed beats for myself but couldn’t afford so I decided to learn music production

Miss Gina Promotes: How many years have you been doing production and how has the journey been so far?

Producer IVO: Well it’s been 10 years now. The journey has been so far good but bumpy roads some times. Overall it’s good.

Miss Gina Promotes: Can you tell us some of the prominent artists you’ve produced so far?

Producer IVO: I’ve worked with Maahlox LeVibeur, Mr. Leo and Salatiel, Ztra, Ghislain Dimaï and many unreleased songs with Ko-C, Lady Ponce, Blanche Bailly, and many others.

Miss Gina Promotes: Why is it that most music producers only last for a short period of time?

Producer IVO: I think it’s because every producer has his/her sound, so when your sound trends every artist wants it and they also get easily tired of it too and look for the next trending sound.

Miss Gina Promotes: How long does it take you to produce one beat?

Producer IVO: It all depends on the abundance of the inspiration and the facilities am working with. It goes from 30 mins to a month or so. Haha ?

Miss Gina Promotes: How do you make your sound stand out from your colleagues’?

Producer IVO: Actually I just listen to mostly out of context songs that is songs that are not of my era and my geographic delimitations.

Miss Gina Promotes: We will like to know, what went wrong between you and Maahlox? Do you still produce his songs?

Producer IVO: Well not much went on, like any human being we grow so our growth made us have divergent ideologies so we just had to part ways.

Since our separation, I haven’t done any production for him.

Miss Gina Promotes: How was it like working with Maahlox?

Producer IVO: Actually, it was a great experience and one of the most charged up with both knowledge and a huge CV since most of the songs we did together were hits.

Miss Gina Promotes: What advice will you give anyone looking up to you as a music producer?

Producer IVO: There are many but the most important I think I can give it’s to broaden their playlist. Not only listen to local music but international music. Not only listen to the music of today but also to what was made before us.

Miss Gina Promotes: Who are your Top 2 favorite producers and Top 3 favorite artists?

Producer IVO: Well that’s a hard question because Cameroon is blessed with so many super talented producers and artists. My top two producers are: Salatiel and Beatballer.

My top 3 artists are hum ?

Mr. Leo, Blanche Bailly, and Daphné.
