In an exclusive chat with Cameroonian rapper, Crispy, who has been doing music for more than 5years now, the ”De Rap DareDevil” shared with us his main reason why he started pursuing music, his relationship with his fans and his view about the music industry.

Crispy: Renzur Esembion Epie Effiwatt

Miss Gina Promotes: What drew you to the music industry?

Crispy: The love for music I guess and the lights, camera and action.

Miss Gina Promotes: Who are you inspired by?

Crispy: My inspiration comes from everything and anyone.

Miss Gina Promotes: Please explain your creative process.

Crispy: Well it varies…Sometimes and idea comes to my head and I get a beat done. Sometimes it’s the other way round. Get a beat, write down something.

Miss Gina Promotes: Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

Crispy: Yes…And only those who are keen and  listen will know.

Miss Gina Promotes: How many Cameroonian artists have you collaborated with? What was the process like? 

Crispy: Above 7… Fun!! The energy is always positive.

Miss Gina Promotes: In your own words, what can you say about the Cameroon Music Industry? 

Crispy: IT NEEDS TIME TO GROW!

Miss Gina Promotes: Do you think the established artists are supporting the upcoming artist enough? 

Crispy: Well, personally I think its their choice to do so. You are not obliged to. Its a virtue, a little too expensive for some.

Miss Gina Promotes: Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans/supporters 

Crispy: I try as much as possible to make everyone feel appreciated and loved.

Crispy: Locko, Crispy, Daphne, Ewube and Mic Monsta.

Miss Gina Promotes: What is your favorite part about this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?

Crispy: The joy of seeing people appreciate your work. The part where they judge for everything you do forgetting you are human.

Miss Gina Promotes: Have you ever dealt with performance anxiety?

Crispy: Yes of course!

Miss Gina Promotes: What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

Crispy: Don’t follow my footsteps. Create yours!!

Crispy: Not to brag or anything, I am a good cook, I love humour, and I am a ”Fufu n Eru” slave hahaha!
