Star Profile: Cameroonian Actor Lynno Lovert – MissGinaPromotes (Movies)

When honorable Wirba will talk of how he watched a Cameroonian film and didn’t even believe it was produced by a Cameroonian,

it just tells you the mentality of our Country towards the movie industry. “Like nothing Good can come from it”!

However, the fact that he watched it on a plane just shows you that he watched it because he didn’t have a choice and wasn’t looking forward to it.

Which brings us back to our topic, ’The reasons why Cameroonian movies are not watched by most Cameroonians’:

1. Firstly, most Cameroonians don’t know where to stream or purchase the movies. Cameroon has a poor marketing structure.

There are only few platforms where people can watch Cameroonian movies. Most of the people who own these platforms don’t promote it or create awareness enough about the services they offer. This is a major setback.

This applies same with Cinemas. So, this is something our production houses and Government have to work on as Entertainment is also a huge source of income to our economy.

2. The actors aren’t ”United” and rarely promote their works on social media or off social media. Most of them only show up to the public when there is a movie premiere.

To solve this dilemma, we advise our Actors to be United and be intimate with fans so as to create emotional links with them and as such, Cameroonians will watch those movies they produce and not only do that, they will support the industry as a whole.

  1. Most actors and actresses are still getting into the industry and as such still unskilled. Although this is a minor problem, as we believe under the right mentorship and guidance, this problem will be solved.

4. Little or no support from Cameroonians and the Government. Cameroonians will better fly to other African countries to be on the red carpet of a new film than to use that air ticket money to support a home-based movie.

This goes to show that they don’t believe in our industry. Also, the government as well haven’t understood the power of entertainment in our Country.

Moreover, other problems we can face are very minor problems that every business can face, like late delivery of equipment, unprofessionalism, etc.

We have to do something for a better Cameroon film Industry.
