Talented Cameroonian rapper, Crispy had something to get off his chest. He talks about artists exploitation and has announced his exit from the U.S.A based Cameroon record label, Ten12Music in a recent interview we had with him.

Miss Gina Promotes: Hello Crispy, how are you doing today?

Crispy: I am Groovy thank you. Hope you OK too.

Miss Gina Promotes: We have been looking forward to your next single after you blew our minds with ”Bad Man Ting”. What’s the delay?

Crispy: Haha thanks. Well, let’s just say I’ve been trying to put one or two things together. I’ve got songs already recorded, I just don’t want to release without planning, you know.

Miss Gina Promotes: What other activities do you occupy yourself with when you are not recording or writing a song?

Crispy: Let’s see erh, play  billiards, basketball, take time out to medicate and meditate lol.

Miss Gina Promotes: How do you stand out from your colleagues?

Crispy: Good one, well, When it comes to style of music, I combine rap, dance hall and spice it with mboko… But apart from that, what makes me different is the fact that I do music first for me before anyone else..

Miss Gina Promotes: What word of advice would you give Skidi Boy and Askia concerning their online feud?

Crispy: The winner of a beef is not always the better artist. Don’t let anything take away your focus.

Miss Gina Promotes: Rumors has it that, you have left your record label ”Ten12Music Group”. How true is that?

Crispy: It is true, we had a misunderstanding, they didn’t respect their part of the contract. And of course they have their own claim. But I wish them well still.

Miss Gina Promotes: When are you dropping your next single?

Crispy: Very soon. By the Grace of God this  May.

Miss Gina Promotes: Do you think artists are being exploited by their sponsors or labels?

Crispy: Yes. Most artists are being exploited, why some are just lucky enough to have labels who understand not just music, but music business as well.

Miss Gina Promotes: What is your perception of Cameroonian record labels?

Crispy: I think the best labels we have are Cameroonian based because they don’t only have the opportunity to talk to their artists in person but they also understand how things work here in Cameroon.

Miss Gina Promotes: Do you have any regrets signing a deal with Teni2Music Group?

Crispy: Absolutely not. The only thing I regret is trusting and not putting business first. As much as they were good to me, they forgot to understand an artist will never be happy if his or her career is not advancing no matter what.
