2019 just snapped out very quickly, as we are currently in 2020, and we decided to design a list of the best producers of the year 2019.

We did a massive study looking deep into the exciting music industry to see those names whose magic touch took the careers of many artists to a new level.

When you listen to some of the biggest albums from Cameroon last year; from Mic Monsta’s ’Kwata Diary’, Jovi’s ’God don Kam’, Locko’s  ’Cloud 9’,  Magasco’s ’Heart’, Stanley’s ’Stanley Vs Enow’ Album to the prominent Hit songs topping charts all over Africa,  you’ll see that the albums, and tracks don’t share a lot of similarities, even if the names on their production credits overlap.

Talented newcomers are making the beats that shape the genre while wily veterans are finding new ways to stay relevant.

We have put together a list of the 10 Best  Producers of 2019.

What you’ll find is a mix of new school and old school producers who hail from different parts of Cameroon and has successfully carved a niche for themselves in the music industry.

10. Master Roboster:

Master Roboster
Master Roboster and Magasco

Master Roboster is not a new name in the industry although he isn’t ’well-known’ by so many Cameroonians. Last year, however, saw a lot of progress in his sound and his releases. He was the chief co-producer in Magasco’s  “Heart” album.

Producing more than 12 songs on the album. He also produced “Soulever” By the Lion Production team(Mr. Leo, Gomez, and Kameni) and was the brain behind Meshi’s ’Pour la vie’ single. He did so much to burst into the list.

9.Sango Edi:

Sango Edi
Sango Edi

Sango Edi formerly known as Edi Le drea (drae Boi) had a busy year too as he produced the hit single “Il est la” and “Tromper” by Nabila and was in charge of more than 7 songs on Nabila’s EP. With this in mind, He also took charge of the discography of the 808 nation and several other artists. His consistency and uniqueness in his sound made him get on the list.

8 .I.V.O:

IVO
Ivo Chobodo

Not much has been heard from I.V.O after his split with Maahlox, but he came up last year in full force. Delivering to us one of the biggest songs of the year 2019, “Argent” by Blanche Bailly, he created his own label, produced so many good songs for his signed artists and other Cameroonian artists. I.V.O deserves some accolades.

7.Softouch:

Softouch

Softtouch gave us some good vibes in 2019, just the way he did in 2018 by producing “My Way”. Last year, he produced “Good Day” and “Glory” by Stanley Enow which did well on the charts and also produced most of the songs on Stanley Enow’s new album. Softouch has a good production CV. So good that he had to get on the 7th spot on the list.

6.DJ Kriss:

Dj Kriss was musically busy last year. He was the brains behind the afro-mid tempo jam ”Sango” by Ko-C and also produced Sandrine Nnanga’s “Pour la vie” and Locko’s “hein hein hein”. Dj Kriss had a lot of work done with Cyndy Vox, Bobby Felani, and several others. He takes the 6th spot on the list.

5: Salatiel:

Salatiel
Salatiel

Salatiel who is a producer and a musician didn’t have a solid year in production last year as the artiste focused more on his career as a musician but, he still gave us good production content. He produced his own hit song “Anita” and also produced Gomez’s most talked-about single ”Ca ne vas pas” to also producing Daphne’s “Doucement” and “Ne Lache Pas”. And so he had to make it on our list.

4.Le Monstre:

Jovi Le Monstre
Jovi Le Monstre

Jovi Le Monstre has always been a titulaire in the production game in Cameroon Music Industry and he proved it last year by producing his own 15-track album in “God don Kam”. Despite his back-to-back fued online with other artists the main highlight of his 2019 was his “God Don Kam” album which in our perspective believes it made him deserve 4th spot on the list.

3: Dijay Karl:

Dijay Karl
Dijay Karl

Dijay Karl had an amazing 2019 as far as production goes and this was because he kept on giving us ’timeless’ songs back-to-back. From ”Yayayo” by Awu to Johnny”” by Mic Monsta to Fhish’s Holla Holla to “My Head” by Tjay ft Mic Monsta. Dijay

Karl did his absolutely best in 2019. We give him all the accolades.

1-PhillBill:

Phillbill and Blanche Bailly
Phillbill and Blanche Bailly

Phillbill was arguably the best Cameroonian producer of 2019. This is because of the amount of valuable content he actually worked on!

From Daphne’s “Allelulia” to Blanche Billy’s “Ton Pied, Mon Pied” to Ko-c’s “Ca a Cuit” and later on Fhish’s “ AntiKirikou”, to Ridimz ”Market” etc and all these songs are all hits.

His delivery gave us the urge to get on the dance floor and dance till our feet hurt. Many may agree that Phillbill’s sound is unique to us and gives harmony to the Cameroonian afro feel. Phillbill is our top producer of the year 2019.

So there you have it. The Top 10 best Cameroonian Producer in 2019.
