Cameroon Award show, Urban Jams Awards is an award show held to celebrate Cameroon music.

 It is held annually and this year 2019, the organizers released their nomination lists and it was with huge

surprise how some of our celebrities in the industry publicly criticized the award show.

Celebrities such as Mel B Akwen, Mc Charlene, Yung Time, Wazih, Montess have openly criticized

the award show, and declared that they will boycott the show for the following reasons:

Mel B Akwen has rejected her nomination as best female artist by posting the nomination list and canceling her name on it with the caption “No Thanks”.

Montess has rejected her nomination and declared that she will boycott the award show because the award

show nominated her in a wrong category (Best Diaspora Artist) claiming she is not a ”Diaspora artist” and is in the USA for a brief stay.

MC Charlene has criticized the award show for not having a category for MC’s

and as such it is wrong for them to exclude MC’s from the nominee list.

Wazih’s record label boss has also criticized the award show by claiming

that Wazih is bigger than the category he was placed in which is (Next Rated Act).

He releases a long statement claiming that his singer is better than the other nominees in the category.

Also, Yung Time has rejected his nomination and called the award show unprofessional and childish.

He claims the award show isn’t fair as some songs and artist don’t deserve to be nominated.
