Okawa Shaznay is a Nollywood actress from Cameroon and the first from Cameroon to successfully break into Nollywood with her role in the blockbuster movie Iyore; starring alongside Rita Dominic and Joseph Benjamin.
She has also gained more prominence with her leading role in the 2016 hit TV series Delilah: The Mysterious Case of Delilah Ambrose.
She won the Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY) award for TV Actress of the year in 2016 for her role in Delilah.
Okawa Shaznay played the lead role in the movie ”In My Country”.
”In My Country,” tells the story of a woman desperate to raise money for an expensive surgery on her eight-year-old daughter, hence turning to a man linked to her past for help.
Unleashing a series of events that kick-start an unfortunate chain of plots; and unearthing a shocking secret that changes things for the worse.
The movie which is currently available on Netflix brings out the theme of power and corruption, love and faith, crime and punishment, individual and society, innocence and guilt, courage and fear.
It was directed by Frank Rajah. The movie stars top Nollywood actors like Sam Dede, Okawa Shaznay, Bimbo Manuel, Shan George and several others.
