The Cameroon Music Industry 2019 has been Unfortunately a slower year so far than 2018.

Reason being that, Our artist didn’t supply us as much music as we wanted, yes there were some artists who came and released

but we didn’t feel like there was some competition in the music market as the charts didn’t interchange most often.

The first 2 months of 2019 were very slow as we were using music of 2018 to console our ears.

We were having few new releases from rookies like Gomez ”Sans Toi” which got people’s attention for a week or 2,

but Songs like “Sango”,”Ndolo”, ”Hein Hein Hein” etc were still on most people’s playlist.

Now, this is not to say these songs weren’t good but to say they were still relevant because there was little or no new music to enjoy.

Then we started having double releases from Daphne, Nyangono du Sud, Blanche Bailly, Blaise B and many more came on Valentine’s day, later on,

the music release rate started rising as the next month Mr. Leo gave us “Patronne” which well received by everyone. Jovi also trended with him releasing his album.

It is to be noted that the trend and biggest song was Nyangono du Sud’s “Ca a Deja Commencé”.

Everyone wanted to do the foup fap, and April came and the Song which peaked and got everybody wowed was Salatiel’s “Anita”.

This song was that big that it did 1 million views in 3 weeks. It became everyone’s favorite tune and still as we speak everyone’s favorite tune.

Anita is still the biggest song in d country as of now.

The month of May came by and was the slowest month of all as nothing really happened in this month.

Ko-c released the audio for his new single “Ca a cuit”, Blanche Bailly also released the audio of “L’argent”. But so far it was really slow.

In June, Mr. Leo dropped his single “Amen” and this song was well received by the public. In addition, we also had some good releases in the month of June like: Batanda by Bryan Frico, Vampire by L-Pee, C’est Toi by Ewube, For My Head by Mister Elad, Na So freestyle by Tzy Panchak and many others.

The first half of 2019 Event wise saw us experience many events like Canal D’Or, Urban jams Awards, Johnnie Walker Concert 2019, Fiafa Awards, etc.

We saw ”beefs” between Pascal and Jovi, Jovi and Ko-c, Tzy Panchak and also, Askia Vs Skidi Boy.

Fashion: Audrey Monkam Walks The Runway At The Accra Fashion Week 2019.

New upcoming acts made their debut like Kameni, Gomez, The 808 Nation, T-Jay, Lil Nero, Shofi, etc

In conclusion, the first half of 2019 was a slow start to the year so far, and we urge

our artists to step up because for our industry to blow up we have to push, create good content which can stand the test of time.
