Spread the love

Weddings in Cameroon and in the world on a whole is an enormous playground. For songs, especially love songs, here in Cameroon, apart from the time we go  for “item 11”, there is no greater joy than dancing with the happily wedded couples, and guest with some good songs.

So in celebration of that, below is a playlist of Cameroonian songs to play at a wedding.

1. Jusqu’a la gare by Daphne:

This is the 1st song that comes to my mind when we talk of weddings, jusqu’a la gare which means till the end of time is a song where Daphne is saying,

she is going to be with her special man till the end of time, for better or worse.

Ns Pictures did justice to the visuals.  After you watch the video you will understand what she is saying better.(Click Here).

This song should be an anthem and a must play at any wedding.

Did Dr. Nkeng Stephens Copy Nigerian singer Teni ”Case” Music Video Concept and Used it for Blanche Bailly’s ”Ndolo” Video?

2. Toi ET Moi by Salatiel:

Second on our list is “Mon bebe eh………”. This song has a very catchy and infectious melody and it’s romantic on all levels.

Salatiel expresses his desire to be with his love interest forever and this message also sticks to a wedding theme.(To Watch the Video, Click Here)

3. On Va Gerer by Mr. leo:

Another infectious tune by ”the Lion”. This song will make your body start moving before you even realize it. Mr. Leo talks of how he and his woman will go through the darkest of times together.

He talks of how they are going to manage the little they have while looking for better days. This should be an unquestionable addition to any wedding playlist.

4. Promets Moi by Daphne:

Our queen Daphne, comes in with this very romantic tune where she is telling her man to promise her that he will always be with her and be the husband and lover she wants him to be.

This song has a lot of soul and is really deep as lovers and newlyweds can easily relate to it and as such, it should be played in every wedding.

5. Kam We Stay by Blanche Bailly:

This is Blanche Bailly’s debut single whereby, she tells all the men out there that she isn’t out for games and so if you love her, you will go see her parents as she gives zero tolerance to “Kam We Stay”.

Kam We Stay is a traditional phenomenon where 2 lovers may want to get married but the male lover doesn’t have finances to officially marry the female and officially do the matrimonial rights.

So, the male lover tells the woman to come live with him as a partner for the main time until he can pay her bride price and officially marry her.

This song should be played in every wedding not just because it’s a love song,  and it sounds good but it should be used as a tool to educate people against “Kam We Stay” as Blanche is said.

6. Dingue de Toi by Dynastie le tigre:

This song is everything you will want in a wedding and more to that it possesses the Cameroonian cultural values.

Dynastie tells his special woman how much he loves her and every woman will want to be told that on her wedding day.

7. Mon Mariage by X Maleya:

This song was sang purposely for this type of situations. It is a must play song in any wedding, as as the music group solely talk of how their wedding day will be.

8. Sawa Romance by Locko:

We never thought this kind of song could be sang by a Cameroonian. It’s a ”SPECIAL” song. This song should be done justice as it should be played in every wedding like an opening prayer in church.

9. Tu Connais by Featurist:

This is a very good danceable song by the featurist group, this song praises the woman and tells her how much of a wife material she actually is.

It’s not only relatable, it’s also danceable so it should obviously be on the playlist.

New Song: Gasha – Diamonds (Produced by Dijay Karl)

10. Ndolo by Daphne and Ben Decca:

This song is a combination of the old and young generation of music as Daphne teams up with Cameroonian legend Ben Decca.

It’s a cool and romantic song as both artistes seduces our ears with their angelic voices. It should undoubtedly be on the wedding playlist.

11. Bella by Mel B Akwen

Lastly, The song ”Bella” by Mel B. This song is just the perfect tune to use and celebrate any wedding. (Click Here)
