After a successful first edition of the Ballantine’s True Music Challenge (TMC) in 2019, which saw Marty Danak emerge as the winner, a second edition of the contest is slated for October 15th through December 23rd when the winner of the event will be announced.
For this edition, together with Ballantine’s ambassador Fally Ipupa, they want to give another opportunity to budding musical talents in Cameroon to win the grand prize package valued at 6 million CFA which includes;
• A cash prize of 2 million CFA.
• A mentoring session with Fally Ipupa.
• An all-expenses-paid recording of a single with a renowned label.
• Other prizes in kind.
For this new edition, they have introduced exciting innovations in the contest. First, Fally Ipupa will be choosing a unique beat to which every contestant will be placing a verse and/or chorus in order to participate.
There will also be a Ballantine’s bus touring the country and getting people to record and submit their video entries.
From the total submissions, a top 15 will be chosen by Fally Ipupa and the Ballantine’s team. The TOP 5 candidates, will then be determined by public votes. A winner will be chosen from amongst these five contestants by public votes and Fally’s vote,with Fally’s vote accounting for 25% of the total votes.
Interested contestants will have to visit www.ballantines.com to download the “True Music beat.”
They will have to sing any song of their choice along to the True Music Beat for no longer than 30 seconds and then submit their video on www.ballantines.com. They will also have to share this video of them on their social media pages, using the hashtag #TrueMusicChallenge.
