Spread the love

⁣⁣1. Most Music Won’t Get Found:

The reality is, not ALL great music out there will get discovered in the fast paced era of music consumption we’re living through. It’s for this reason that you should double down on your work ethic and craft and not focus too much on getting discovered immediately. ⁣

2. It Should Be Personal:

As time goes on, we’re slowly beginning to realise that success is an inside job. If your goal is to become famous and tour the world, so be it, push for those dreams.

But, ensure those are your own dreams and not ones crafted by others. Some people’s idea of success is paying their bills, traveling the world and having the freedom to be with their family. ⁣⁣

3. Forget Overnight Success:

If your song goes viral, that’s awesome! All the success and love to you. But it isn’t the “be all or end all” if it doesn’t happen. Focus on building your catalog and developing a community around your music, so, if your song does gain some viral success or exposure, people will have new music of yours to checkout (or old music)⁣

4. Popularity Doesn’t = Longevity:

One thing artists don’t realise is that virality isn’t the greatest of things because it doesn’t set up an artist for longevity – Would you rather one big song and a short lived career, or a career developed over time with consistent quality music? ⁣⁣
