A “one-hit-wonder” is an artiste that achieves popularity often for only one piece of work and becomes known by the general public for only that momentary success which overshadows their other songs.
This list is for those artistes who gave us good music a few years ago and today we are hearing nothing from them.
They give us many questions to ask ourselves like “weti don happen eh?” “E di still do music so?” etc.
Bad Nova:
Bad Nova was an artiste signed to Sonolive Prod and made the hit song “Ferme Aussi Les yeux'” which was a hit and received major airplay especially in Douala. While everything was looking good for him, it somehow faded out and we haven’t heard of Bad Nova for a while.
FRANKO:
If you didn’t dance to Franko in 2015 then you were not a Cameroonian (lol). Franko gave us too many memories with the song “Coller la petite”.
He did a world tour and later released cool singles like ”Telephone” and “Faut pas taper sur Madame” but little did we know that this was the start of his decline phase.
3) Fluri Boyz:
Fluri Boyz was a Group of 2 singers, Jay Milli and Rich B who actually were trending in the industry as they didn’t release a major hit but they constantly released good songs that made waves.
Their biggest song was their collaboration with Locko. “Jamais Vu” enjoyed massive airplay in 2016. Word on the street is that, they group have disbanded.
We shall live to see them come back again one more time!
COOLKID BERKA:
Coolkid who was signed under CIM Rekords was a household name in the Cameroon Music Industry in 2015 when he released his song “Seriously” ft Baller.
Everything was looking good for him as he was in many big events and topped charts.
By the end of the year, he released a new single and featured on 2 songs. 4years after Coolkid hasn’t released any new songs.
His fans are looking forward to his comeback.
DUC–Z:
Duc-z was the man when it came to Cameroon music, years ago. He released ”African Mamy” in 2012 which enjoyed massive airplay nationally. Also, he featured on Magasco’s hit song “Fine Boy Rmx” and had multiple releases like: Back In The Game Feat Stanley Enow, Freedom Feat Krotal and many others.
We remember he had a joint headlined concert with Singuila and also released a song Ft. Singuila and Pit Baccardi titled ”Je ne Donne pas le Lait Remix”.
He released many songs and they all just disappeared with time. Ever since then he has not released any song that has been able to walk in the footsteps of his ”African Mamy” not even the song ”3 en 1” he dropped 5 months ago.
MUSEBA:
Museba was one of the front female artists who paved the way for Urban music in Cameroon around the year 2012 with her hit song ”Bom Bom Bom”.
She released her biggest single “African Mama” in 2014 featuring Nigerian Superstar J Martins.
The song was a huge hit but ever since then she has not been able to match up to her first single.
