One of the greatest attributes a musician can have in a highly competitive industry is the gift of versatility.

The ability to switch and adapt within different genres of music is a rare talent many musicians do not possess.

There are a few Cameroonian musicians who are versatile and can leave their comfort zone to perform excellently doing another genre of music.

There are a lot of rappers in the music industry who show their versatile side by doubling as both rappers and singers. These rappers rap extremely well and can, at the same time, sing excellently well too.

It is on this note that we are going to rate the top 5 Cameroonian rappers who possess heavy bars and can kill the high notes. Let’s go!

Tenor has been here for a while and most of the time, he has blessed us with incredible hit rap songs like “Do le dab” and of recent “LVMH”  but once in a while, he comes up with some songs that need amazing vocal cords to pull off and keep us wondering if he wrote these songs as his singing on them is spot on. Examples of such songs include “Bad things” or “Besoin de sourire”.Tenor is to be assumed as a rapper who can sing amazingly too.

2)Stanley Enow:

Stanley started off as a rapper with his hit song “Hein pere” and several other rap songs, it’s strange to know that he has self-proclaimed himself as a full-time singer from now on as he has shocked us with his singing skills in songs like “My way” and “Good day (fire)”.

3)Magasco:

We all know ”Bamenda boy” Magasco, as a singer but little did we know that he was a rapper before transforming into a singer.

He personally confessed to the media that it was His long-time mentor, DJ Pazzo, who transformed him into a singer.

4)Mihney:

Mihney is a growing female rapper who is out to run the show. She has had many collaborations with rappers like Yung Time, Pascal, Magasco, Askia and many others,  where she sings the hook of the song with such a catchy tune and melodic voice then later on raps on a verse after her hooks.

Now, this is just how versatile she is. Her latest song with Magasco “Vas y”  showed us how good she is at both rapping and singing and can’t wait to see how she can explore this gift.

5) Koc

Ko-C
Ko-C

Ko-c is one of the most talented artists we have in Cameroon. He can sing and rap so well. The Big Dreams’ rapper has done a lot of singing also which stands as high as his rap songs.

Take a look at a song like “Caro” for example. This song has a lot of depth and emotion in it.

Ko-c brings out a softer side of his persona when he sings. And a lyrical god when he transcends to his fast-paced rapping.

So there you have it. 5 artistes who can both rap and sing in the Cameroon music industry.
