Hello MGP Readers, this article is a guide to all artists who plan on working on a collaboration or worked on a collaboration recently.

Here are some things you want to do:

1. Get A Splitsheet Signed:

A split sheet is a legal agreement that outlines the ownership interest of a newly created track. Don’t be one of those artists whose track blows up only to be sued by other parties for ownership interest in the song.⁣

2. Be Vocal About Changes:

Be sure to always voice your thoughts about the project during and after completion of your track. If it doesn’t sound quite up to scratch yet, ensure that you communicate this to make sure you’re putting out the best quality content! ⁣

⁣3. Create A Release Strategy:

A release strategy allows you both to understand exactly how you’re going to promote the track from pre-release to post-release. It provides a clear structure of who will do what and when. ⁣

4. Register Your Publishing:

A PRO (Performing Rights Organization) is a company that collects royalties when your music is performed publicly whether on radio, live performances, venues and so on. ⁣
