Ash Tabot pays tribute to his brother Ashu Priseley Ojong, also known as the Young Mayor of Mamfe was murdered in Mamfe.

Ash recorded the track in Douala, with producer Dijay Karl and the video was shot in Mamfe, South West Region of Cameroon, during the last funeral rites of the Mayor, by Double G, of Double G Films.

“Betrayers and Traitors” is a song of Grief with a soul touching instrumental and heart-pumping bass, with a driving force from the hands of a talented engineer and the songwriting prowess and vocal cord of an eclectic artist who is ready to be heard in his pain.

Without any previous release yet, Ash’s relaxing chillout style remains present yet matured, with a more refined and pragmatic worldview.

“I have always had a passion for music. For many years, I have been recording, but never released. The passing away of my brother became a spark, a fuel, a kick, a pulsation that pushed every thought of doing music fully to the forefront of my existence.” Ash tells MissGinaPromotes.

“I immediately got to Douala, got to Dijay Karl, with the intention of taking this great pain off my chest, for the pain was haunting me, and still is, though it has slowly subsided after I recorded and did the video.

My pain, my grief, my loss, everything of me is in this song in memoriam of a brother who was taken from me, from us, just because he was doing his job, and doing it well.”

While the song differentiates itself from the sound norm of today, its originality will keep circling back to us, for it is a song that will be played over and over for full digestion.

“Betrayers and Traitors is a soul-filled, catchy reminder that love, friendship, and unity are breachable for profit in this modern world where one’s enemy can be lurking within the body of a close friend,” – Ash tells MissGinaPromotes
