Rising star Raizy has dropped a new track titled “Go”.

Makossa rhythms meet 21st century Afro beats, soul and pop, while introducing his own signature style.

The single partly highlights his multi-faceted approach to music but also showcases a distinct melody driven by a steady rhythm and his dynamic vocals.

It culminates in an energetic chorus laced with cinematic strings and unpredictable beats.

When we asked Raizy what inspired him to write the song “GO” here’s what he said;

“At the time, I was going through a lot mentally,” he says. “I had gotten really positive reactions from everyone listening, and I was like, ‘It’s time to go, go, go’. I was just trying to express myself. I’m basically saying, ‘I’m on my way chasing my steals.’ “

As the third in a family with six children, Raizy discovered music through his father who collected old radio tapes containing blues, country and Makossa.

He often played them when he got home from work, which was the starting point for his son’s own interest in music.

In 2015 Raizy got a computer from his father and taught himself to produce in FL Studio where he spent countless hours finding the perfect loop or drum.

He eventually began producing for a range of artists behind the scenes, including Dynastie Le Tigre, Bruce Breezy, Duane and many more.

He contributed backing vocals to songs for several songs and in the process developed his voice and eventually chose to record solo material.

In 2022, he released his debut single “AJOKE” (feat. Billi Nicekid, Duane, Tiyaya, & Snazzy Prince). The hype built up songs like “My Sound” and “Bread”, which brought Raizy attention and eventually a record deal through EMI Sweden/Universal.

“In Cameroon, a lot is happening locally, both politically and socially, and that contributes to what I do. There are good things and bad things we can talk about. But I’m trying to take our music to another level. It is part of the country.

I want to mix Makossa with trap, pop, house and everything else I can to create something new. Most of my songs bring different genres together. It’s Afrobeats, but in a Makossa way in terms of the instruments – it’s versatile. I really get into a lot of different vibes. I will export this sound worldwide.”
