Lionn Production rising artist Kameni finally releases her debut project which comes after 2 years of constant work by the artist which has seen her artistry grow from her doing covers of other songs to her releasing her first professional singles as an artist in  “Boss” and” Nayo Nayo” which has been a hit since 2019 and in the midst of her rise to the top.

She vehemently decides to show more creativity and give more artistic value to herself by releasing this 6 track Ep

and as usual, on this review, we are going to do a refined analysis of this 6 track Ep below.

1.Kameni – Ghetto:

The first song on the EP is “Ghetto” which is the Lead single off the Ep. It is a song in which Kameni makes an effort to connect the listener to where she is from, and in this song, we get to know what she stands for and at the same time, vibe positively to this midtempo afro dancehall tune. This song is good and so many Africans can relate to it.

Writing credits goes to Kameni, CFX, and Mr. Leo and video credit go to Dr. Nkeng Stephens.

Overall, it’s a great track. We rate it 3.5/5.

2.Kameni – Merci:

The second track on the EP which is “Merci” is a song of gratitude to God for his overwhelming love and blessings in her life as she explains how thankful she is to God for 4 minutes.

The Production of this song is satisfactory than the previous as  Akwandor makes her sound excel on a mid-tempo Afrobeat.

From this song you get to experience a change in emotions as it gives positive vibes from start to finish.

However, there is a drop in lyricism as the verses are average at best, and given the level of the artist, you expect better in that department. “Merci” gets a 3/5 Overall.

3.Kameni – Announcement:

”Announcement” comes in at as one of the best tracks in the Ep as it’s a very relatable song that Kameni gives a wakeup call to those acting as they know her after her rise to fame.

She highlights the fact that she won’t affiliate with those who are never affiliated with her before her fame.

It has to be said that, this song delivers in every aspect; the production, delivery, and lyrics and you get her effortlessly singing on this song which is something we haven’t heard in the previous tracks.

4.5/5 is fair enough for this song produced by Akwandor and Co-written by Mr. Leo.

4.Kameni – Tombe:

Arguably the best song on the EP as we get her singing on an entire level. The replay value is so high as you can play it over and over and still get that juice and never feel satisfied and so deserves a 4.5/5.

Kudos to Akwandor, Mr. Leo, and Kameni for a Job well done on this piece.

5.KameniTouche:

Kameni releases this midtempo afro/reggae tune titled ’Touché’ which gets you to the dancefloor in no time as she demands her love interest to give her the love she yearns.

A well-produced song that actually suits her reggae style as it also blends with an afro.

Touché was produced by General Phil who brought out her vocal range to its maximum best.

This song was written by Mr. Leo and deserves its spot on the EP. We rate it 4/5.

6.KameniSweet Mama:

The last song of the Ep comes as a tribute to Kameni’s mother and mothers as a whole.

She appreciates, Glorifies, and Thanks to them for the sacrifices and love.

Production-wise, this is a good one by Abstrumental and gives a different dynamic look into Kameni’s delivery on this song.

A 4/5 merit is what is deserved by this piece of art.

Conclusion:

It’s actually clear from having a listen of this EP that this project was used as an instrument to solidify Kameni’s roots in the Cameroonian mainstream as most of the songs are extremely commercial.

From the 1st song of the EP(Ghetto) on your way to Merci, It’s a slow climb on a hill but as you get to “Announcement”. You start relaxing as you now get impressed by each and every song on the EP.

The song “Tombe” is without a doubt the best on the project. The production was also top standard especially when its Akwandor in charge of most songs produced on the Ep.

Special shoutouts to Abztrumental, Cfx, and General Phill who also did their best on the production of some songs on the EP.

One thing to appreciate is the use of one common emotion: Love in all the songs. That’s why Kameni fights, that’s why she is humble.

Although most fans were expecting Kameni to collaborate with some of their other favorites, we appreciate the fact that she solely was the only artist on all 6 tracks.
