Cameroonian music band, XMALEYA has released the 5th video from their 6th studio Album CARDIO. After releasing visuals of Fianga, Mon Gout, Dieu N’oublie Pesonne & Je T’aime, the band has picked on «Ta Fille N’est Pas Ta Femme» as the 5th song in the 13 track album to release its visuals.
Under the directives of the XM MUSIC FOUNDATION, this song and its visual, is one of the many projects to be carried out by
XMALEYA as they embark on the journey to combat sexual abuse (especially among teenagers) in our community, which is becoming increasingly rampant.
Did you Know That:
1. Sexual abuse starts before 11 for 1 victim in 2 and before 6 for 1 victim in 5
2. In more than 90% of cases, the perpetrator is a relative, 1 child in 2 is abused by a family member
3. One victim in 2 abused during childhood tries to commit suicide
4. Worldwide, 1 in 10 girls under the age of 18 has been raped, amounting to 120 million
Thus, the time is now to make a difference. The more people are informed about child sexual abuse, the fewer victims there will be. Ta Fille N’est Pas Ta Femme is one of their favourite songs in the album.
The theme describes the ordeal of a little girl, in the hands of her perpetrator and beckons on anyone in such a situation to speak up and not remain silent. The title explains the song in its entirety.
In line with this project, a short film by XMALEYA will be released early next year, to be used for a sensitization campaign, with a tour of the 10 regions of Cameroon, organizing workshops, seminars, and talks on the way forward to combat this syndrome.
