It is with immense pride that Open Mic Productions announces its newest artist, Jennifer Ewube from Cameroon. Open Mic is home to some of South Africa’s biggest artists including Master KG, Makhadzi, Paige and many others.
To herald her arrival at Open Mic Productions family, she releases two singles VIP and Testimony.
Full of spunk, energy and inspiring lyrics, her Amapiano-meets-dancehall sound will earn her a legion of new fans across the globe as the record label intends taking her music all over.
Known simply as Ewube, she is already an established artist in Central and West Africa. She was born in Mamfe, south-west of Cameroon and boasts a distinct voice paired with unmatched songwriting skills. She has been dubbed African Rihanna and Queen of Camer Hip Hop.
Ewube who sings in English, French and pidgin, has been a leading light of dancehall in Cameroon since she started out in music in 2013 while studying Economics at the University of Buea where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
Welcoming Ewube to the Open Mic Productions fold, managing director Advocate Nkateko Maluleke said: We are continuously looking for talent that will take African music forward.

Ewube’s signing by Open Mic forms part of a joint venture between Open Mic Productions and Cameroonian record label, Calabash Music.
